The Old Testament is mythology which is full of myth. In Sanskrit 'Mythya' means untrue. On the other hand The Mahabharata is called 'Itihasa' in Sanskrit which means history or 'so said'. It is historical account written by Vyasdev after 3102 B.C. and the Great War was fought in 3138 B.C. i.e. 36 years before Sri Krishna died. Mahabharata literally translates as the history of Greater India. It describes the history of two Royal families who lived in north India around 3000 BC. The history describes a great battle that took place as Kuruksetra. Even today you can catch a train from New Delhi to Kuruksetra.
