As with any sport or skill, continuous practice sessions are what makes things perfect. When a period of no-practice sets in, the skills may not be lost ( especially if the break period is not too long) but definitely the reflexes will slow down. Also breathlessness may set in due to large periods of inactivity. A good way to ensure that less is lost would be to keep on aerobics within home if its unsuitable for stepping out. Lunges, ab exercises and more - meaning the same amount of time you would spend in the field may be put to use at home too to enable you to stay fit with vigour..cheers!

If you don't practice for a couple weeks, you won't lose everything. You will be very rusty when you start back up, and it will take a while to gain your rythem back. And ya most likely will be out of shape when you run up and down the court, but it won't take to long to get everything goin again. Hope I helped ya, and good luck!

It's like riding a bike. You really never forget. Shooting is the only thing that i can see that maybe different. But that would be if you took off like 2 years from shooting a basketball. Trust me, a week off will not screw your shooting up. Every year we had xmas week off from practice and i wouldn't touch a ball. And within 5 minutes of warming up your muscle memory kicks in. Don't worry.

yes, without the practice you could lose your skill as they say "constant correct practice makes you perfect" SO PERHAPS, inconstant practices loses our skills...

Not exactly but if you don't do it for a couple weeks then it will feel like you have to relearn it.
