Growth (or, "getting taller") is a complicated process that involves nutritional, environmental, psychological, biological, and genetic processes all working together.
In order to grow properly, you need to get all of the right nutrients. These include all sorts of vitamins (the B group, D) and minerals (iron, calcium). If you don't have these things in your food, you won't grow normally. Nowadays in the developed world, this is rare, as most children get plenty of these supplemented in their diet.
Eating more of these nutrients than your body needs will NOT help you grow taller, which is what you want. If you are younger than 20, the best way to grow taller is to wait -- everybody grows at different rates and starts growing at different times.
In fact, growth rates stay pretty stable -- that's why pediatricians monitor the growth rates of babies. If a baby starts growing more slowly, then there may be a problem. So unfortunately, there is little anyone can actually do help make you taller.
You should NEVER, EVER TAKE ANY HORMONES. Doing this would cause something called the fusion of the epiphyseal plates of the long bones. This means that your bones would basically seal themselves up, and stop growing, forever. So taking hormones would actually freeze you at your current height, which has all sorts of problems. So never take these under any circumstance. Steroids have their own set of problems, but they wouldn't make you taller, anyway.
Hope that helps. If you have more questions, you should really ask your doctor. He will be able to help you. I STRONGLY encourage you NOT to start taking or eating supplements to try to grow taller. In the long run, they won't work, and only stand the risk of causing you serious harm. I BEG YOU, TALK to your DOCTOR BEFORE TAKING ANYTHING.
Hope that helps,
Frank

This gets asked periodically. You need a lot of nutrients to grow tall, but calcium for bone growth is a good one, and protein for muscle growth is also good.

i agree with starrwoode....
its all about genetics! sometimes sports can influence your height (for example-sports that cause alot of impact on the body can stunt your growth slightly)
growth hormones or that horrible surgery...a bone lengthening surgery. they put these like metal things on your legs..and every so often you have to turn the thing which basically breaks your legs and makes them heal themselves. VERY painful. i dont reccomend it.
be happy with your height. theres not much you can do about it.
