It's specs said it writes/reads at 1MB/s, but it seems kinda slow when you wanna copy music on it's memory. So I'm thinking maybe it could be solved by a firmware update. What r ur thoughts?

1MBps is dirt slow. To give you a few things to compare it to, basic SD cards read/write at just under 1MBps, high-speed SD cards read/write at about 20MBps, USB2.0 runs at 60MBps, wireless-G runs at 3-7MBps, and USB1.x runs at a max speed of 1.5MBps. If the specs say 1MBps, that's probably a hardware limitation, most likely due to being built to USB 1.x spec instead of USB2.0.

One important distinction to watch out for, of course, is that 1Mbps refers to megabits, while 1MBps refers to megabytes, where a byte consists of eight bits. Thus 8Mbps=1MBps (and many people mistype the "b" and "B"). Many companies will spec their hardware in terms of Mbps because it allows them to put a larger number in front of it, which makes it seem a lot faster than it really is.
