Of course science has to be taught in schools, they cover a wide range of subjects in science. I think you really need to take more notice in English class as well ... ... ...

Well, part of being a "good" Christian or Catholic (by the way, christian also means catholic because both belive in "christ") means that you must be able to see both sides and not be like, "oh science sucks. That never happened anyway. Why should learn it anymore?"
I too, as a christian and student suffer from the same decision. I don't care what they teach all I care is that i know truth. I may be narrow-minded to those that don't knwo what Christianity is about, but I don't care. However, despite that school teaches things contrary to Christian stories, it shouldnt be completely shunned. First of all, you need good grades in school to get a good college and a good career. Second, not all science is completely false. Thirdly, both Christian teachings and science have holes in their stories. So we're not completely right but nor are they.
It remains only for us to wait until Jesus comes and shows the world the truth. Until then, I guess you'll just have to struggle with science homework, but preservance will get you through especially when you've got God on your side.
Good luck!

Though I'm Catholic, science, in all it's forms, is very important. Science explains why you look like your parents or grandparents(genetics), why whales have a pelvis and no hind legs (evolution), and why giraffes have long necks (natural selection). It doesn't mean that God wasn't behind the initial spark of life.
That is an excellent question for your Sunday School teacher to answer. In fact, that's what they are there for. Ask him/her and they will give you a more complete answer.
P.S. Don't worry. Genetics and evolution theory will only be covered in a chapter or two. You'll get to learn about volcanoes and physics (rocket propulsion) sooner or later. Plus, I'm sure you'll get to do lots of interesting hands-on projects.

Yes, science should be taught in public schools, but to an extent. Teachers, curriculum developers, administrators, etc. have to know when to stop. Evolution should be taught, but not to where there are arguments in the class resulting in fights. I had a class where it was a fight because two pupils were arguing over the idea of evolution. Also, the teaching of evolution may affend some. I just think there should be limits on it.

You know the more I read about what is being taught in church, the more I am glad I do not go. I am not a supporter of organized religion. Don`t get me wrong, I have my christian beliefs, but I am not going to be brainwashed into thinking that science is something from the devil. Science is to explain what the bible does not, and is intended to be used to enrich our lives with it`s use. Some other person posted a remark that their preacher teaches that Satan was responsible for the dinosaurs fossils that have been found to fool us into thinking the earth is older than it is. I want to believe that the GOD I believe in is a heck of a lot smarter that what is being taught in his name. Genetics is important as it will enable us to one day hopefully understand the diseases that plague mankind, and their cures. Also genetics is used in DNA identification to prosecute criminals, and it is needed to exonerate the innocent.

Well, I think Science should be taught in schools, religious or not. As I think things such as Creationism should be taught in public schools along with Evolution. Knowledge is power and the more we learn, then the more we can make up our own minds about what is right and what is wrong. Plus, Science and Religion can co-exist. Watch the movie, Contact, with Jodie Foster in it. It shows that all people have faith, but where we place this faith is the difference.

Hmmm...You're gonna get a lot of mean responses, or at least you should. Your Sunday school is teaching you about faith and morality, which are very important things, but if you want to learn about the world around you and how it works, then you need to learn about science, history, math, and all that fun stuff. Otherwise you'll end up a very ignorant person, and Jesus would not want that.

First off I think you need to focus more on English....Secondly science proves what the Bible cannot....therefore I am wondering why they are teaching the Bible to people instead of science
