the best one i can think of is AdAware SE. the problem with most of the programs like this is that their trial versions detect the spyware but you have to buy a full version to be able to do something with it. With my experience in AdAware SE (the free version), it's the only one that removes most spyware.

Hi,
The one I use is not totally free, but you can scan for free. Then if it finds any adware etc you can register it - I review it on http://removeadware.wordpress.com/
It is very popular and I been using it for 7 months.

First off, dont have more than one or two virus/spyware controls on your copmuter, and Second AVG has free software that is extreamly good, and you can do everthing a reguler control does.
