Great question! Every leader has his/her flaws, but if they keep those flaws to themselves or those flaws are not leaked into the public; it just requires a person having confidence, integrity, and maturity, that leads most people to think a "clean cut, educated, and well preserved, family oriented person" deserves that title of being a leader. Plus, it depends on what sector of business, politics, philanthropy, etc., that credits that individual; which indirectly gives them leadership, not based purely on appearance, but based on quality. Enjoy and be Safe...(smiles)

In my opinion appearance has everything to do with leadership if someone does not present him or herself in a strong, clean, conservative fashion and has personal good grooming....no one under him or her is going to think he is someone to honor as a leader of a business.
Workers/associates need mirror images as a guide.
The quality of work produced would be affected.
The leader sets the standard, the leader without even knowing it has a lot to do with the atmosphere of the business. When you walk into a business you can feel vibes. It all starts at the top.

i would only follow a leader who's appearance is respectable. by respectable i do not mean wealthy. good looking, or strong. but somebody who is clean, kempt, and clearly takes care of themself.
