Well, he would be great at either sport. I like his commitment to the Cubbies and the fact he will not try to be a two sport guy like Deion Sanders and Bo Jackson. I think he made the right choice. He has a 97 MPH fastball. I am sure his stint in the minors will only last a couple weeks. His contract is only $10 million over 5 years, but it can be worth $16.5 million if the Cubs option him for 6th and 7th season. Plus, he has a better chance at longevity in baseball. He has less chance of injury. In the end, he says his heart is in baseball and that is all the counts. I am glad he choose to follow his heart and not the money he could have demanded as a 1st round draft choice in the NFL.

I think Samardjiza chose the sport he most loved and thought he had a chance to make a good career in. I cannot truly say if he made the right choice, but I think he chose the sport HE thought was right for him.
