Two different issues.

The person holding the judgement can collect until and unless the judgement is paid.

The credit repositories generally only report debts for seven years, with the exception of tax liens, which can stay on your credit report until and unless paid, and Chapter 7 bankruptcies, which stay on your record for ten years. Note that even if you pay the debt, it will still be reported for seven years from the date incurred.

Judgements are usually good for around 7 years.. or until they are paid.
