It depends.

Remember the 4 C's: Cut, color, clarity, and carat weight. You have only told me 2 of the factors: color and weight. For most clear, good quality cut, white round diamonds in that size range, the price would be be in the range of $250 to $350. Assuming you have a natural blue, and not a treated blue, that base price would increase by a factor of 2 to 4 depending on the exact shade of blue. If not natural but treated, it would gain only a small premium of perhaps 20%. The fancy cuts also gain a premium of 50 to 75%, depending on the cut.

So your diamond may be worth from $300 for a treated, poor color standard stone to over $2,000 for a premium, fancy, natural blue stone. See a jeweler / appraiser if you really want to know.

It is not possible to give a definite answer on-line. Firstly most of the blue diamonds on the market are lab manufactured and as such a 1/5 ct. stone would have a value of around $80/100. If the stone is a natural blue the price will be assessed by depth and quality of the colour, the perfection of the cut and how clean the stone is so without examining the stone it is impossible to make a guess. As a maximum I would not expect it to be worth any more than $4000 for the stone but at that price it would have to be stunning.

That is really teeny, but how long you have been seeing your gf and your age and income should also factor into it. My husband started out getting me 1/4 ct. diamond studs in white gold at a jewelry store that let you trade up on your earrings and get full price on your trade. We would make payments for a year then I would trade for the next size. You could always start something like that. I am at 1.2 ct (total weight)now and that is the perfect size for me.

Blue diamond’s come in a range of colors; from light fancy blue, fancy blue, fancy intense blue and fancy vivid blue and are also graded based on cut and clarity. It depends on which cut, color and clarity you are interested in, so without that it will be difficult to give you the cost.
However, on average the price of a Radiant 1.51 Ct Fancy Intense Blue VS1 VG VG GIA certified diamond will more than $35,000
