Why don't you re-install Internet Explorer? I suggest uninstalling it first before re-installing. Hope that does the trick. Good luck.

If u have your Windows CD then pop it in, reset your computer, and do a system repair of XP..You may have to hit your F8 key (or whatever it says on your computer) to load from the CD. Once the XP install screen comes up the first thing it will ask is if you want to repair or re-install..choose repair...this will put back missing files and get you back into windows in 5 mins.
I dont think it is necessary for you to reinstall windows from the sounds of what happened..it just sounds like a few files are missing after the uninstall of that game (i hate it when games do that).
If you can get into Windows fine then you can also click the "Run..." option and type "sfc /SCANNOW" and windows will scan your computer while in windows to see what needs fixing.
You can also try reinstalling the game and hope it puts back the file it destroyed...After installing the game check to see if everything is back to normal...This doesnt solve your problem but at least you can get to use your system right away and deal with this nuissance later via the methods i described above.

I would first suggest reinstalling the game. The game probably deleted files that were shared with other programs, and reinstalling it should probably bring those files back. If the computer works after that, then you can try just deleting the folder for that game in Program Files so that it won't delete the files shared with other programs.
You might also want to try going to "Add or Remove Programs", and click on "Add or Remove Windows Components." Make sure Internet explorer is checked.
However, firstly, try going to My Computer and right click, and go to properties. Click on the System Restore tab and make sure there isn't a check mark next to "Turn off system restore."

DO NOT DO A REPAIR OR RESTORE
Use the Windows XP SFC command to have windows scan and repair files; to run this command, follow the below steps. Additional information about the SFC command can be found on Microsoft's SFC command page. Make sure you have your XP disk handy, because if something is missing, it will ask for it.
Click Start
Click Run
Type "sfc /scannow" and press enter.
Once the above steps have been completed, Windows will verify that all protected windows files are intact.

if all these answers don't work, go to the command prompt type sfc /repair (notice the space between the c and the /. this is System File Checker. It will use your Win CD to extract the files needed to replace corrupt ones or missing ones.

Use Windows XP system restore. It is right there in your start menu and then go to Accessories. After you use it you will find that it is a life saver.
