Dr. Frankenstein promised to create a mate for the "monster". When he reneged on the prmise, the monster took his revenge by killing the Dr.'s wife so that Dr. F. would be has lonely as his creation.
Was the "monster's" revenge justified? Yes. The monster was absolutely alone in th world. He had all the wants and emotional needs that humans have , but had no means of satisfying those needs.
Thus the only recourse left to the Creature was to force humans
to kill him.

Doctor - Frankenstein is the monster - and a true sociopath. If you look at "the monsters" observations, you see someone who is very sympathetic (i.e. we understand that he is lonely, that he longs to be with people but cant be)
The Doctor simply cant relate - which is what makes him less than human. He has the ability to aleviate "the monsters" suffering - but he choses not to - so in a way, I dont blame him....as a fictious charector, I might have done the same thing.
The question is - how can you relate to the charectors? That is what makes literature worthwhile.

yes, the revenge was both deserved and inevitable. because the doctor didnt realize that there's more to creating a human being than just making a body--you gotta have a soul too. and the poor creature was destined to doom and misery because he had life but no soul.the doctor, for all his brilliance, could not make spirit--but only flesh

this aspect of the story is only evident from reading the original book, not from all the cheesy movies.
