"Dexter is based on Jeff Lindsay's novel Darkly Dreaming Dexter. Last year, Lindsay released a sequel, Dearly Devoted Dexter. Production on Dexter Season 2 will begin in the spring, and Showtime intends to premiere the 12 new episodes next summer."
