It starts off with what you do the best(and been doing best) combine with what you like to do.
These are what I put in mind
1.) What you do best ('ve been doing best)
Asking yourself: Can you acheive the highest or how far can you go for this field?
2.) WHat you like
How much do I like? Can I combine what I do best with what I like? (If not, do I like what I do best? or inversely)
3.) Is it making a lot of money OR any advancement in the future?
WIll experiences in this field helping you go further?
#3 is very big question in deciding a career. Doing a research may be required for answering #3.
Pretty much go for 1-->2--->3
or for someone go for 3-->2--->1
Hope this will help....

I have seen a lot of people get college degrees, and then work in a completely different area.
And...I'm one of them. Studied to be an architect with a minor in computer info systems. Didn't like being an architect. Switched to computers - programmed & designed computer systems and made at least 25% more money and generally enjoyed the work a lot more.
Have seen a lot of ? here about people wanting to get a degree in criminal science and asking what type of work should they do. What I have suggested, is they do something called Police Ride-Along. Go out riding with a cop on patrol. And ask the cop a bunch of question. It beats the h*** out of listening to some college professor give you a bunch of theory about a job they have never seen or experienced. Doing this might help them avoid getting a degree in something they wil never use.
You are a harder case to suggest a direction to. You are not sure what general direction you want to go in. There is no sense in heading in a direction, if you don't know what it is you are going after.
So why not try this - take a year off. Find a job - something that you might be able to use your accounting or info systems skills. Don't do this as "THE SOLUTION" but as a "TIME OUT". A period during which you can see the "business world" and try to find a target you would like to go after (and get paid while you discover where you want to head). After a few months, you may have a target in mind.
Good luck.
I'm now retired (age 55) and looking for something interesting to get into to make some extra money. Until then - I have been rehabing some rental houses I own - and volunteering for a civic club (and helping members of our youth club find scholarships). Not sure how long I will do this, but until I find a good target to go after - I'm having some fun and feeling like I'm doing some good.

Do you know, if you really want to get read then you should have the courtesy to write in proper English and not in semi txt speak which sometimes comes across as Bugs Bunny; it really buggers up my eyes trying to read it and is a turn off. Don't try the emotional blackmail stuff, > but they dont realise dat breaking up with him will get me more depressed n will affect my studies in a negative way <, and yes, it may well effect you that way. These are just life's ''things'' you have to work through. If it is to be, then it will be. Sorry, but if he doesn't wait and finds another, then that's what happens. And no, apart from geting a spell cast to ensure he waits, there is nothing that you can do about it. And - to the point, even if there were a spell, it would only mean something 'artificial' and not the real deal. Sorry, I wish I could offer up something more positive. Sash.

Uh well i am now 29 and just decided what i am going to do. I have changed my major 4 times, engineering, philosophy, poly sci, and now business. It took 4 years in the military then another six years of going to school and working in different fields before i found a carrier path that i enjoy and that i have a great talent in. Don't worry about it! get your bachelors in whatever program is the fastest. go work some jobs find out what you like, there is nothing wrong with changing fields. Once you find out what it is you like finish your masters. The happiest and most successful people are well rounded. They have experience in allot of areas. Don't think that just because you get a degree in something you will be stuck in that job your hole life. that's not how it works.
oh ya make sure it is something you love.

I have no idea what I want to do with my life. Sorry. I also like almost everything including math, drawing, writing, etc. That is why I have two majors and a minor. I just couldn't decide. Political science, Spanish, and a minor in economics. Basically, I want to understand the world and why global society functions the way it does. It's a tall order but I'm working on it.

When I was about age 5, I was asked what I wanted to do when I grew up. My answer-to be a nurse. I became a nurse and worked in the profession for 20 years. If you are currently in college and still don't know where you are going career wise, you need to think about the kind of work you would enjoy most. Working at a job you dislike is extremely stressful and unfullfilling. Think hard about what you really enjoy and go for a career in that field.

I've always liked to draw, but in 7th grade found out I had a talent for writing too. I wanted to major in Art, but my mother talked me into majoring in English. I guess it worked out as I've had a book published a couple of years ago. Whatever you love to do is what you should major in. If you're not having fun you're in the wrong place.

you have to find something you enjoy as well as that you are good at. if you hate your job you wont want to do it when you have to.
