1.
Seperate (x-2)=0 (x-3)=0
solve for x
x=2 , x=3

2. {EDITED, my mistake} You are correct

3. Use same steps as 2

4. (x-3)^2 = (x-3)(x-3)
Use FOIL
(x)(x)= x^2 , (x)(-3)= -3x , (-3)(x)= -3x , (-3)(-3)= 9

X^2 - 3x -3x +9
combine like terms
x^2 - 6x +9

To check you answer, Factor X
To get the number 9 we can either use 9x1=9 or 3x3=9
And to get -6 by adding two numbers, we can use -3 -3= -6
(x-3)(x-3) = (x-3)^2

5. use same steps as 4

1. As there are 2 terms whose product is zero, either can be zero. Hence x-2=0 or x-3=0. So x =2 or 3. Both answers satisfy the equation.
2.What you have stated is right.
3. The correct answer is x^2+2x-3.
4.(x-3)^2=x^2-6x+9.
5.(x-4)^2=z^2-8x+16.
For questions 4 and 5, the basic formula used is:(a+b)^2=
a^2+2ab+b^2.
