Hi,

I'm 16. Can I sign up for my own cell phone plan without parental consent?

Thanks.

With any cell phone carriers, they require that the person be at least 18 years old and above in age. The cell phone companies will ask for a driver's license as well as running a credit check on the person.

The only way around this is to purchase a prepaid cell phone which doesn't not require any age restriction and no credit check is necessary.

Nope, you need to be over the age of 18-19 (depending on the company and state you are in). You can always get prepaid though.
