cross multiply
6/7 + 11/10,
take the denominators 7 and 10
multiply them together, to get 70,
this is your new denominator
because you do this, you also have to change the numerators
the numerators are multiplied by (thus the name "cross multiply")
10 and 7
so 6 * 10 and 11*7
and you get
60/70 + 77/70 = 137/70
it can't be simplified any further
but it can also be written as
1 whole 67/70

6/7 + 11/10
70 is the common denominator for the fractions.
6/7 * 10/10 + 11/10 * 7/7
Now the fractions have the same denominators and the numerators can be added.
60/70 + 77/70
Add the numerators.
137/70
Divide the numerator, '137' by the denominator, '70', to get 1 with remainder 67. The remainder is the new numerator. The quotient, '1', becomes the whole number in the mixed number.
1 and 67/70
The resulting mixed number is:
1 67/70

we can't add fractions unless they have the same denominator
1. get the lcd of 7 & 10(denominator). get the prime multiples of the denominator.
7=1 x 7
10= 2 x 5
lcd=1 x 2 x 5 x 7
lcd=70
2. since we now have similar denominator we can proceed with the next step. divide 70 (lcd) by the denominator 7 and then multiply by the numerator, we have 60. Same is true with the 2nd fraction divide 70(lcd) by the denominator 10 and then multiply it by the numerator 11 we have 77.
a.) 6/7+11/10
b. )60/70+77/70
3. next step is to simply add the numerator and then we just have to copy the denominator 70
=(60+77)/70
=137/70 or 1 67/70

Because 7 is a prime number, the lowest common denominator for those fractions is the product 7*10, or 70. So, multiply the first fraction by 10/10 and the second one by 7/7. Note that this will NOT change the value of the fractions because you are multiplying by one. Then the first one becomes 60/70 and the second one becomes 77/70. Then, you add the fractions normally to get 137/70.
137/70 cannot be reduced, so that is your answer. Good night!
Cross multiplication is a good method to use once you understand what you are doing. Learn it the way I explained first and use cross multiplication to save time on the test. Good luck!

Reducing to coomon denominator 70 6/7+11/10 =(60+77)/70=
133/70.=19/10 because 133= 7*19 and 70=7*10

find first the LCD or least common denominator of 7 and 10,(denominators). Then the LCD is 70. 70 will be your new denominator, then add the numerators and copy the denominator which is 70. the sum is 17/70. by the way, we cannot cross multiply that problem because that only applies if the operation is multiplication. since the plus sign is indicated, its addition. trust me, my answer is correct that the first ones.

find the common denominator. If you aren't clueless, then you know the c.d. is 70.
Mult. the first term top and bottom by one, or 10/10. Mult. the second term by one, or 7/7.
60/70 + 77/70 = 6/7 + 11/10
Hmmm, 60/70 + 77/70 = 137/70
Hmmm, seems all to easy to me
