because she is a muslim.i am an indian so i know the whole fuss that was being made about her clothes by the muslim clerics.they issued some fatwa and said she should wear pyjamas or an ankle length skirt and play,but mirza was unfazed about all this.however some muslim womens organisation supported mirza and praised her for being an importand muslim woman achiever.now the whole debate has died down and i can assure u this talk about her skirts was not because she is a woman or an indian cos u have indian women in other sports too donning short clothes.

I think Mirza Sania is a wonderful sportswoman from India because she doesn't care less about so called 'shortskirt' created by some religious fanatics..all she wants is to become is a good sportswoman representing India and not muslim or indian as some groups say.
The fact that she is the only sportswoman well known outside India people are beginning to take notice of her success and eventually will benefit the country.
