I haven't had any actual morning sickness yet (hoping that I won't) but I have been get nauseated off and on, and it seems to be happening more frequently as the days pass. so my question is, did morning sickness come on suddenly for you? or did it come on gradually over a period of time? thanks in advance for serious answers :)

In my first pregnancy, I got morning sickness just a few weeks after becoming pregnant and it lasted until about 13 weeks. It came on suddenly and ended just as abruptly.

Keep in mind that morning sickness is not limited to the morning hours! Some women are fine in the morning but ill later in the day, some are queasy all day long.

If you are nauseous, try eating small plain meals...keep water and crackers by the nightstand and nibble a bit before getting up.

Congrats and good luck! The sickness is worth the joy!

Mine came on gradually, starting with the second week. That's how I knew I was pregnant the third time, which was a total shocker! The nausea lasted until about the 16th week for me and it was worse in the evening, for some reason.
I found that drinking a lot of fluids on an empty stomach made the nausea so much worse. So I carried crackers, candy, and other small snacks around and munched on them when needed.
Good luck and keep in mind it's only temporary. :)

With my second pregnancy, i remember it being kinda sudden, woke up one morning with it and then it ended around week 15. A couple of things that helped curb the nausea was smelling a fresh lemon. I would cut it and smell it and then cut it again later to get the fresh scent back. My doctor suggested smelling rubbing alcohol! The lemon worked better. Also, peppermint candy was good, cinnamon gum worked too. But the lemon worked the best. And cheeseburgers at 10:30am every morning....maybe that's why my baby was 10 pounds!! Good luck and remember it won't last forever!

My morning sickness was much like you described. I was about 8 or 9 weeks in when I started feeling nausiated but I never actually threw up. It died off by the 12th week. The last trimester brought migrane headaches and all I was permitted to take was Tylenol. That was 100 times worse than morning sickness.

My morning sickness was not gradual. First time I was sick from 6wks-12wks, second time I was sick 12wks-16wks, third I was nauseated the whole time, and the fourth I was sick during the last trimester. My advice is to keep water close and sip it when you feel sick coming on and saltine crackers or something bland. Sometimes you just need a little something in your belly and the sick feeling goes away. Do not let yourself get super hungry and when you do eat, take your time. Good luck!

Mine hit the day i did the test and it came back positive. And it hit bad for months. I had to sleep through the worst of it. If i got outa bed too early then i would spend all day vomiting, if i slept in it wouldnt be too bad. Hubby used to make me a strong tea and put some ginger biscuits next to my bed b4 work to help with it. Once it does hit, go get some sea sick bands from the chemist, they are about AU$11 but so worth it they help with the nausea something shocking. Good luck i hope you dont get it

With my 1st girl it came about 7 weeks lasted all day every day for about 3 week and then just went away. With my son I was only nauseated and it went away in about a week. With this one I was sick every day for the first 4 months then one day it just stoped. Chewing on ice helped with all three. Also eating bland foods helps.

It hit me like a ton of bricks.

The only thing that ever worked was getting up in the middle of the night and having a snack. Usually a bowl of cereal. It kept my blood sugar from dropping and kept me from getting sick in the mornings. At that point, I was getting up once every night to pee anyway so that was when I had my snack.
