To tell you the truth....so far....I think I've only been in love with ideas!

Definitely.
Someone will "paint me a picture" of how life could be. Painting with words can be so dangerous. Because it allows me to close my eyes and take those words to a whole other level. My mind starts adding to the "picture." Ellaborating on the painting, I create a whole concept of how things could be. I imagine life being just as it is in my mind. I sooo admire the idea and appreciate it. Soon, the appreciation starts becoming a desire. After awhile, the desire turns into a need. Once I realize I can't live without this idea.........then...... then I know I'm in love with the whole picture that has been painted in my mind. I'm in love with an idea.
It's what happens when you suddenly realize that this painting will never be completed....... that you start to fall apart. *sigh*

Of couse I have!!!! I think everyone has at one point in their life.....
What I hate is when you are in love with an Idea and you are in a creative moment.... When you are done writing (in my case usually) and you hand it to someone to read.... I hate it when they say:
"That's it?" or "Ummm... I didn't get it" or "I would've expected more from you" or even "Why the heck would you write about that!?"
Also what I hate is when you have to do an assignment.... You love what youv'e done, you even think that yours is the best in the class then you read someone elses ........ (I can't continue... but you get what I mean)

Oh, yes....at times, passionately so...and then I remind myself that "idea" and "reality" are often pole-opposites.
And it certainly depends on the context of the "idea"....if it is a project...that is different. That kind of idea...I will cultivate, nurture, grow, love tenderly, yet intensely....until it becomes what I imagine.

i have been in love with the idea of being in love with an idea. nothing would be better than having such an abstract bed fellow, but alas, i have not found such a powerfull concept as yet
