My ISP allotted me random Ip address everytime I connect to the internet, but I want to make sure my port is the same so I tweaked the Internet protocol settings to use a static IP address.

Will this work? What problems might it cause? Or is this better?

My main concern here is to make sure my uPnP port maps (not sure what this means) so that my utorrent downloads can go faster. Thanks!

Sooner or later the ISP will change your allocated IP Address and you will be unable to connect to Internet.
