When you go to Las Vegas these usual things you will want to see for FREE:
1. Number one on my list is to watch the fountains displays in front of the Bellagio hotel. It usually runs every 15 minutes in summers starting at 3:00 PM; runs continuously until about midnight. Each show is different (there are more than 20 different tunes choreographed) so stay and watch at least 2 or 3. ALSO, go inside the Bellagio hotel to its lobby and view the beautiful glass sculptured ceiling AND the seasonal floral arrangements in the Atrium.
2. The “Sirens of TI” show (spectacular) in from of the Treasure Island Hotel; it runs every 90 minutes starting at about 4:30 PM. Simply stand on the sidewalk in front of the TI Hotel.
3. The volcano erupt in from of the Mirage Hotel; starting at dark until midnight. Again, just stand on the sidewalk in front of the hotel.
4. Go down to Fremont Street and see the light shows. There are usually 3 or 4 different shows, starting after dark (about 8:30PM) and lasting about 5 or 10 minutes each.
5. Go to the RIO hotel to see the Masquerade in the Sky show. It is like Mardi Gras parade, only suspended from the ceiling over the gambling floor. It runs every 60 minutes starting about 3:00 PM; the last show starts at 9:30 PM..
6. Go to the MGM Grand hotel to see the Lion habitat. This is better then the tiger habitat at the Mirage Hotel because there are usually trainers in with lions to keep them active.
7. Go to the Mirage hotel to see the white tigers that Siegfried and Roy show used. This is kinda passe because the tigers rarely do anything but sit and stare.
8. Go in Caesars Palace and walk through the Forum shops to the first fountain (its spectacular) then take the first fork to the left to go see the aquarium. Then continue on through the shops to the second fountain and wait for the show to start.
9. Go into the Flamingo hotel to see their animal habitat with flamingos and penguins.
10 The Excalibur hotel also has a free show starting at 10:00 AM until 10:00 PM.
If you are a Star Trek Fan, go to the Hilton (off the strip) for "Star Trek The Experience"; it cost about $25.
People go to Vegas to sightsee as well as gamble. You can see most of the stuff on the Strip by walking, so you don't need a rental car. There is a free monorail between Bellagio and the Monte Carlo Hotel and also another free one between Excalibur, Luxor, and Mandalay Bay. The one on the opposite side of the street which runs from the MGM to the Hilton you have to pay to ride. There is a free bus between Harrahs Hotel to the RIO Hotel that runs every half hour. There is also a free bus that you can get outside the Barbary Coast Casino that will take you to the Orleans and some other off strip casinos.
Plan which hotels/casinos you want to visit each day so you can make the most of your walking and the free monorails and scuttles. When you get to Vegas you will probably have in your hotel room a free guide to the city called either "What's ON" , “Showbiz”or "Las Vegas Today". These are helpful guises as they have a map of the Strip and city with the hotels marked, current hotel shows and prices, plus useful coupons. Some coupons will give you a free souvenir from certain hotels; you just have to take the coupon to the hotel. They also list hotel restaurants and buffets time sand prices.

Other that that.. Venetian - has very nice Italian style-setting. Ride the Gondola, it can be very nice. Caesars Palace - has the place set as if you were in the Ancient-Rome. It also has a good shopping place! And check out their Atlantis show right by the arcades! Bellagio - The Garden, very nice picture spot on the inside right by the lobby, they change the theme according seasons! Also they have the biggest chocolate fountains in the world! Mandala Bay - Aquarium that 12,200 gallons of water with tropical fish and sharks too! Circus Circus - has a whole floor level for arcade games (The Midway) where you can play for cheap and win prizes! And they also have an indoor-theme park, The Adventure Dome, where they have rides and other arcade games! Check out the free Circus Acts also, right above the casino level! Luxor - has a very nice egyptian theme, and you can take a picture with the Sphinx and the pyramid in the background. (right outside the hotel) Paris - go up the Eiffel Tower, it's not too high but you can still get a great view of the city. Strathosphere - go up to the Strathosphere tower and it has a really nice beautiful view from up top. Plus, there are some roller-coaster rides up there too, but if you're afraid of heights, I wouldn't recommend it. The Mirage - has a very beautiful Tropical Forest, and Coral Reef Aquarium and their infamous White Tigers! Flamingo Hotel - very nice wildlifes from around the world, they have the garden filled with exotic birds, ucks, penguins, swans, turtles, koi and of course the Chilean flamingos. MGM - lion habitat! Also on the strip, right across NewYork NewYork, there's a big M&M's store. If you're a big M&M's lover, it's the best store for you. Next to it, there's a big Coca-Cola store, and Gameworks somewhere near too! Okay, I hope that helps! :) Have a fun trip!

1. See a Cirque du Soleil show. The newest one is LOVE at the Mirage set to Beatles music, the best one (to make anyone say "WOW") is O at the Bellagio where the stage is a swimming pool, and the best Cirque buy for your buck is Mystere at the Treasure Island.
2. Visit the Bellagio Hotel Casino. The water fountain show that happens in the pond in front of the hotel is excellent, and free. The atrium garden inside is absolutely beautiful, and free. The lobby of the hotel is considered an attraction. And the art gallery is currently featuring the work of Ansel Adams (the art gallery costs something like 12 USD per head).
3. Visit dowtown Fremont Street. This is classic old-school Vegas, where the hotel casinos are closer together, the table limits are low, the street is filled with entertainers (musicians, sidewalk painters, etc.) and everything from the food to the souvenirs is cheap. And it all takes place under a magnificent four block long LCD television canopy that features a nifty overhead show (again... 4 blocks long) every hour or so.
4. Spend a day outside of Sin City enjoying nature. Go to Red Rock Canyon or Valley of Fire or the Grand Canyon and get your beautiful outdoor desert fix. There are tour companies who will take you to these places, or you can rent a car and find your own way. Of course they all feature majestic scenery and fabulous hiking.
5. Spend a day sight-seeing, checking out attractions around town. There's a nifty aquarium at the Mandalay Bay called the Shark Reef, there's an outdoor garden area at the Flamingo featuring penguins and flamingoes, there's several great over-the-top shopping malls including the Forum Shops at Caesar's, the Desert Passage at the Aladdin, and my favorite at the Venetian, where you can ride in a gondola through the canal in the middle of the mall. Also check out the roller coasters, Speed at the Nascar Cafe at the Sahara is the best coaster in town.
Fun off-strip things to do include seeing the extravagant costumes and pianos at the Liberace Museum, and checking out the Hard Rock Hotel Casino's collection of rock memorabilia. (They also have a great souvenir shop at the Hard Rock, but it's pricey.)
Have FUN, and wear really comfortable shoes. And remember... gambling can be fun, but the only way to guarantee you'll win is to OWN the casino.
Oh yeah.... don't pay above face value for show tickets. Get them directly through the hotel box office. There are a lot of ticket brokers in this town who charge exhorbitant mark-ups above face value... please don't fall for it.

The Grand Canyon is a day long trip but is well worth it because it is friggin' awesome. The Hoover Dam is anti-climactic, but if you like that sort if thing then do it. In Las Vegas, make sure you see a Cirque du Solei show, once again, friggin' amazing. Try different games gambling but don't spend too much. Learning a new game is fun, but don't get over confident until you think you've truly mastered it, which even then, the house still has the advantage. You and whoever your with can have a whole bunch of fun just spending a few bucks at a game while learning it and then moving on to a new one. Craps and Roulette seem to have the most energy. I can;t think of the name of the game, but it is the only one that allows players to touch the cards, as well as tear, bend, and mark them and it can get pretty crazy and fun to be around.
Be safe and have fun

Go tour the strip, up and down... walk if you are up to it. Check out downtown Las Vegas if you can. You can go across the highway to the Palms and Rio via The Barbary Coast, they have a free shuttle that travels across the street to the gold Coast which is right next to the Rio. Definately hit the Big Name Hotels New York, the Belegio, Ceasars, hit the mall in between Ceasars and Mirage. Check out the pirate battle at Treasure Island. Check out a show if you can and a club if you can afford it. Even if don't leave the hotel you are staying you'll still have a great time. You can go wrong in Vegas...

I live in Vegas. It is a terrible city. Too bad you have to go. All we have to offer is shows and casinos. Try circus circus. How about Show "O"? Or Celine Dion? Your best bet is to go rock climbing at Red Rock. Just DO NOT GO TO VEGAS DURING THE SUMMER. YOU WILL BURN YOUR BRAINS OUT!!! Your better bet is to stay in Australia. That is where i wana live. Hawaii is the BEST too. Good luck here!
