If you have problem download the SP2 thru window updates, you can download it here http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=049C9DBE-3B8E-4F30-8245-9E368D3CDB5A&displaylang=en
Close all apps running in backgrounds like anti-virus, firewall,...before install the SP2.

Do a good computer cleaning before trying to download SP2.

Clean your browser cache. Go to Tools>Internet Options>General Tab>Delete the Cookies, Temp Files (in the window check to delete Offline content) and Clear History.

Go to Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Disk Cleanup. Run it. Check every box and click OK.

Close all running programs, including the Browser. Go to Start>Run>type: %temp%>OK. In this window go to the menu to EDIT>Select All> now delete all the Temp Windows files (not the same as temp files in Internet Option).

Clean your Prefetch files: Start>Run>type: prefetch> do as above to delete.

Follow the path for Disk Cleanup and select the Disk Defragment. Defrag the HD even if it says it does not need it.
