I have to..... I mean, imagine the consequences otherwise?? There are times I know I could let go and let my heart just fall, but I stop and look at things logically. I look ahead. I look at others that might be affected by my actions. If I feel anyone could be harmed by my heart reacting spontaneously, I reel myself back in and retreat. Goes both ways...... if I see those all important "red flags," I stop my heart and give it a little talking to and explain that no matter how much you want to "believe" something could just be perfect...... too many signs point to it not being.
It's hard. Man........ it's worse than hard. Sometimes it is dibilitating. Especially when you are a passionate person that "thinks" with your heart. But just as we keep our wits about us..... we have to keep our emotions in check too. Can I do this? *sigh* Unfortunately...... I've learned that I have to.

I don't really understand what you mean by "Can you keep your heart in check? ".... Do you mean it in a loving way??? If so----- I usually keep my heart in check but not always.... sometimes it's hard to always do what your heart desires.... I mean sometimes what your heart wants and by the rules of our society, It's kinda hard to do what your heart is telling you to when it would be considered a disgrace.... (i guess thats how i'll phrase it....)

Yes! The older I get the stingier I get when it comes to giving my heart to a special lady! But, that doesn't mean I won't give it!

Yes...I might let it veer off from the course sometimes, but it always manages to end up in the right place.

I keep my heart in a box because of the number of times I've had it ripped out and handed to me. (Where have you been?)

i try to keep it within the constraints of what is deemed to be couth, but the heart as the uncanny ability to rise above the realm of cogent/concious thought.
