I use the gerber bottles and nuk nipples and my son loves them,but i hate them!I have tried to switch him but he wont take anything else,I wish i did start him on the avent but he was in the hospital for his first 2 weeks of life and they had nipples like the gerber so i went with what he had been used to but over time i found they did not release the air well,I would suggest Avent from what I hear from friends of Playtex.Good luck.

I never tried the Nuk, but the Avent bottles are fantastic. The baby gets less gas, and the nipple is shaped similar to the breast, so it's easier transitioning for a breast feeding mom.

I preferred the Avent bottles and nipples. They are more naturally shaped and last a long time. I nursed my daughter for 3 1/2 years so I had to pump a lot. I preferred the Medela Pump-In-Style pump. It's a little expensive but worth every penny. It's easy to use, comfortable and pumps a good volume of milk in a short time. If you have a local La Leche League chapter, join it. Look in the phone book or on the Internet to find one. It is guaranteed to help you survive motherhood. Nurse as long as you can. Don't plan a quit date. Take it one day at a time and let your baby lead the weaning process when the time comes. You'll have the healthiest baby around! Happy nursing!

Avent i use them for both my son and my daughter, and they were both fine. My daughter prefers nuk pacifier she likes the nipple better.

Both are good.... depend on what you baby prefers... my eldest daughter like to use avent.... and my youngest son likes to use NUK.

I actually use the Dr. Brown natural flow bottles and the nuk orthodontic pacis. The Dr. Brown was a lifesaver. My daughter always drank her bottles so quick that she would get gas. THe Dr. Browns bottles fixed that.

the answers really lies on the baby. it's not much of the bottle, but the nipple the baby is sucking on. my son preferred the avent brand. i did try other brands and he rejects the majority. your baby will tell you which one is better.

I use avent and have no trouble apparently they are the best to reduce colic.
