What I do is not who I am. What I do is moulded according to the position I am placed in. Maybe I have to defend myself against an aggressor; maybe I have to compete against another; maybe I have to hide some petty misdemeanour so as not to hurt you. So you may hate everything 'about' me. But how about 'me'? Don't you still love me?
I just shifted the emphasis.
