I need to wear it to a Fire Depatment's Chief Dinner. I am not skinny, so I need a store that has nice dresses in larger sizes.

If you have a JC Penny in your area I recommend them. I don't do any of my regular shopping there because there clothes isn't really my style, but they do have a great selection of nice dresses in all sizes. And they are always having sales. I just bought a nice dress there for Vegas at $40. They never fail me...and I'm not that skinny either.

at forever 21 they have cheap, cute dresses in larger sizes but im not sure theyre fancy enough for a dinner. theyre more like highschool homecoming dresses.

Macy's definatley has some cheaper simple dresses, and a pretty good selection. Depending on how big your mall is, you might have to try one or two stores. :]
