There is at least one small ball, it doesn't hurt to swallow but it has a foul smell.

no, the white balls that you see are food particles that have become embedded in the crypts (holes) on the tonsils.
you get crypts (holes) from having frequent infections of the tonsils...yes, these white spots usually smell pretty foul...
there is no cure, but you may want to try and brush your tonsils daily (if you can do it without gagging)

i can completely relate! if the little white balls are on your tonsils anyway. they are called tonsiloliths. normally the cells of your tonsils shed and are swallowed but sometimes they can lodge in your tonsils instead and get stuck. then bacteria start to eat the cells, which is the smell you notice. easy to take care of...gargle salt water at night and maybe once or twice during the day.
i've had tonsilitis a few times and believe me, it hurts to swallow!
if they don't go away with the salt water you can get an antibiotic.
if the little balls are actually on your throat and not your tonsils, well, you should go to a doctor for that. probably strep.

Strep throat....I get it about once or twice at least every year. And you get white patches in the back of your throat, that really don't hurt at first just kinda scratchy, put if not treated it will hurt and it will swell up. Then your sinuses will swell up then you feel like you can't breathe. Go to a Dr. and get on antibiotics ASAP.

it is possible. BUT, it is much more likely that you have herpes. No, this is not a joke. Herpes is a virus that affects 90% of the human population. It just is inactive in about 80% of them. My girlfriend and her sister both get those white things on the back of their throat and their throat is sore. So to be safe you should get it checked out.

I actually get these foul little puss things in my throat I believe they are called tonsiloliths (I don't think I spelled it right though). I've gone to the doctors for it and they told me it was from stress, but I don't really know if that's true.....

Well actually you don't get the crypts from having constant infections. EVERYONE has crypts in their tonsils. Those little white things are tonsil stones and more people get them then they would like to admit. Google "tonsil stones" if you would like to learn more.

Adenoids ? tonsillitis hurts and you would have a red throat.
Strep, you would have red and white streaks .
