Uncontrolled population growth, deforestation to convert forest land to agriculture and to provide homes from wood, indiscriminate use of petroleum and its products for human pleasure, and recourse to rearing animals for human consumption rather than remaining vegetarian, would be my choices.
Consequences: 1. Need to find food, clothing and shelter for humans puts pressure on all available natural resources, destroying nature; poverty, war among people for availing of essential natural resources.
2. Alteration in weather pattern and undesirable effects such as global warming, reduced rain, etc.
3. Ozone layer, inflation due to non-availability of limited oil for essential purposes, poverty, atmospheric pollution and spread of diseases.
4. Diversion of essential foodgrains to feed animals instead of humans results in disproportionate output of food for the same amount of energy and other resources expended to produce the food.
Ways to conserve ecosystems:
1. Planned control of growth of human population based on sustainable development and demographic principles.
2.Re-forestation and afforestation to correct the prevailing imbalance of tree cover.
3. Development of eco-friendly alternative sources for power and fuel to replenish dwindling naturally available petroleum.
4. Nature has its own ways of controlling animal population. A return to vegetarianism would release large amounts of food currently grown to feed animals that are ultimately consumed by man. The ratio of food fed to animals to that required to feed humans is estimated to be at least 4:1.
This is a very vast subject and it is not possible to compress an answer in this forum.

Well I can't give you 4 but here are some activities that humans do like the (solid and liquid ) wastes from Factories this would affect the river or the water and would kill a lot or marine organisms living in that water. Ecosystems can be conserve by planting trees!!

Activity 1: Slash and burn farming. Consequence: soil erosion and degradation, and depletion of forests.
Activity 2: Depletion of forests. Consequence: Loss of biodiversity.
Activity 3: Use of CFC's (chlorofluorocarbons). Consequence: Green house effect.
Activity 4: Overpopulating our world. Consequence: world hunger and poverty are the main ones.

Four ways to conserve ecosystems:
1- Practice sustainability. Function in a way that will not deplete resources or cause negative environmental impacts.
2- Plant trees!
3- Use "green" products. Practice recycling.
4- Learn, teach, and practice effective family planning measures.

for one, i'm going to have to say, playing racketball, to much sweating at the end, thus leading to having to shower, therefor, using soap, and soap goes down drain, into septic and septic gets backed up, back up septic over fills seeps out into the land, land get all nasty smelling with human yuck! cows eat that human yuck ya know? then, cow dies, cow gets processed into hamburger patties, some goes straight to the store, some go to the fast food places, resturants, but mostly, that said cow goes straight to the dinner table of farmer, farmers wife then takes in a healthy warm bite, and proceeds to vomit over table, thus having to lead to her showering, she uses the soap and soap goes back down that drain!!, but best of all, she gets out of the shower, and dries her hair, some uses hairspray, gell, mouse...ect, it's a vicious cycle, so, with this one example, the best way to conserve our ecosystem, is to not let people play racketball!
