Trick question. In all the years Matt Dillon rode a horse on Gunsmoke, the horse's name was never revealed during the show. However, trading cards were once issued that named the horse Marshall (although they left one "l" out on the cards). Arness supposedly told an interviewer once that the horse's name was Faithful Old Buck. However, on the tv show, the horse's name was never revealed.
