Kind of! Even though I think it is an irrational fear, I did feel anxiety seeing the thing and reading about it! But I admit that part of me enjoys the irony of a 'scientific' and 'technologically advanced' version of apocalyptic prophesy. The same exact clock and 'doomsday' imagery is used in different religious sects as a device for awakening people to the reality of the coming of God and to invoke a sense of fear and reverence...and I think [and hope] that there are much better ways to encourage reverence, respect and conscienciousness...

The "Doomsday clock" is just a fabrication of society and it's paranoia. The problem is that negative energy "feeds" such a concept, just as perceived helplessness "feeds" an oncoming disaster such as a hurricane generated by the news media. What people don't realize is that their thoughts and emotions create the energy to keep such things going. If we would all focus on positive thoughts and getting along together more, such things will have more of a minimal effect. Put simply, it's a case of believing propaganda and indoctrination by the forces that seek to control us all.

No way! That thing is such a load of crap. It's based on nothing more than opinion and is designed to scare people by always staying so close to "midnight". I don't think it's ever been set to a time before 9pm although I haven't researched it thoroughly. If it were ever accurate in any way having been conceived as a clock it would have had to start at 00:01 at some point.

I believe in the Bible. It is being fullfilled as you are reading this. When Isreal became a Nation God said that generation that sees her become a nation will see the coming of the Lord, which is the beginning of the 7 years of the Anti-Christ reign. Yes, we are the generation unless your in your 60's or 70's maybe. check out www.jvim.com. Yes, the clock and the Bible correlate closely to each other. Famine, wars, changes in weather, when NOT 1, but ALL of these things happen it's a BIG SIGN., yyeeeaa we're close!

I'm not afraid of the doomsday clock, I'm afraid of all the stupid human activity that makes intelligent people want to go to that kind of drastic publicity stunt to warn us.

By the way its not going to be a big cataclysmic event where we all go out in a flash of glory, its going to be a slow agonizing death for the planet and all the life-forms on it.

Even if you don't care about yourself, think about what our childrens future is going to be like, not to mention our children's children.

Like Frank Zappa said, "It won't blow up and dissapear, it will just look ugly for a thousand years"

If they dont know the Bible, they dont know enough in this day and age. Doomsday clock, does not speak for God. The Bible does. It disturbs me , that they presume . Other than that, no, "my best friend was born in a manger" !
What would people say if they knew it was true ?

not really. I have no control over when I die anyway-it is in God's hands anyway as is the 'setting' the "Doomsday Clock." In all honesty, who cares what a whole bunch of science professors say-they can't see the future.

I'm not afraid of either the Doomsday Clock, nor the Apocalypse. I have no control over either of them, and fear only diminishes my enjoyment of life.

Cister,

No what's the point of being afraid of death.
From the moment a person is born they are dieing; In fact part of life is death.

Jim Morrison quotes

“People fear death even more than pain. It's strange that they fear death. Life hurts a lot more than death. At the point of death, the pain is over. Yeah, I guess it is a friend...”

Death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies inside us while we live.”

“Love is stronger than death even though it can't stop death from happening, but no matter how hard death tries it can't separate people from love. It can't take away our memories either. In the end, life is stronger than death.”

I fear nothing. I exist now, my reality and anther's may be different. This is not my problem or concern.
My feelings are when the world ends, the future is unwritten.
