Start with a smaller agency. You will get swallowed and forgotten in a large agency. Their focus is on clients "already making money."
Referral by another client of the Agency. Or, if you are in show, and an agent sees and likes your work, he/she will contact you.

Well first call an agency and ask for classes then at the end of the class you will be a member. It is worth it because they find the auditions for you!!!! So call your local agency.
