Greenland is covered 80% in ice; assumeit will melt.
Also understand that the US already has an Air Base there and many complicated treaties already in place.

I don't think so... since A) there is nothing valuable in Greenland and B) the US doesn't have any colonies

First it would have to conquer Denmark, which I believe has juristiction over Greenland, or you can become a Dane and go there. There's plenty of Canada around if things get too hot in your part of the world.
