I have 2 white rings on my bathroom brown laminate countertop. They were made when I placed a can of tile cleaner on the counter while I cleaned the tub tiles.

The counter is a plain dark brown laminate and the white rings really stand out.

They are in a spot you can't cover up.

Does anyone have any ideas how to cover the stain up? (I don't think it can be removed as I think it was 'bleached in' stain)

Try 'stripping' away like janitors do by using a liquid chemical stripper. Strippers peel away paints, applied sealers, polymer floor waxes and some of the original vinyl tile material if your not careful. Or try using the finest grade (# 0000) steel-wool in small tight circles. The laminate material might have enough of a thickness that allows you to see what is beneath the burn and maybe reveal a factory color beneath. If yes, spray with a thin clear coat finish .If not cover with a make-up and clear coat once you're satisfied with matching color. Good Luck!

You can try to stain the circle with leather dye ,powdered food coloring made into a paste or what ever kind if strong coloring agent you can think of . Test a small part of the circle if it colors well when dry then lightly sand the whole surface clean ,dry, and color the circle then use a spray sealer on the surface. Use a small amount of coloring at a time and wipe it quickly. You may need to have a slightly lighter color and just add layers to get the right depth of color which may be different when it is dry.

While I doubt there's a cure, have you tried dabbing brown shoe polish over the rings? Maybe some will leach down and restain the spot. Then you could cover over with GelGloss to restore the shine. Seriously though, I think a new countertop is in order. If you are a renter......bummer

There is no way to get rid of them seeing as how they didn't leave anything behind but rather stripped stuff away. They aren't stains, they are burn spots where they bleached away the color from the counter top. I guess if the bleach spots are clean, that is they look kind of cool and not messy, then you could repeat this process a few times and make the circles all over the top and make it kind of artsy or crazy.

It's bleached and it isn't coming out. You can make more rings for camouflage pattern or you could paint the laminate. It can be done, but it isn't fun. Or get a small laminate remnant and replace the whole top.

I had the same problem just apply some white toothpaste (sounds silly but trust me on this one) and let it sit for about a minute then wipe it off with a warm moist towel hope it works
