I've gone through many airports and I always check the car seat. Sometimes I've even checked the stroller. There is really no point in taking it with you. I've never had any car seat get damaged--so far I've taken three different seats. They put it in a bag for you so it won't get torn or damaged. If it does they will easily refund your money. If your infant is under six months I suggest just carrying him in the airport with you. It takes a lot less time to get from point A-B without a stroller. If you have delays instead of just rushing off to your next flight you'll have to find an elevator and get it folded up quickly. I flew just about a week ago actually and found it nice just to have an umbrella stroller that could easily hang from my carry on bag if I had to rush. I would just leave it all behind. I hope this helps you! Safe travels!!

I bought the extra seat and kept the baby in the carseat on the extra seat during the most of the flight. Took him out to feed or comfort him. I have also done it where I checked the car seat in with my luggage and it was undamaged, but I think it's a safe bet to assume they will throw it around like everything else lol. It was a nightmare to hold the baby for the four hour flight though, and I can't even imagine how I would have managed to go to the bathroom if not for my husband being with me to hold the baby when it got too much for me. Good Luck

I bought the extra seat for the carseat and my son slept the entire flight from cali to texas. both ways. We checked the stroller at the gate. I was traeling alone so i needed the stroller when we were switching planes. but i saw people checking both car seat and stroller at the gate. It depends on the airline.

depends on how old the child is and how long your flight is...if you plan on holding the baby in your lap then check the car seat with your luggage and bring the stroller, they will gate check in right on the plane and it will be right outside the door when the plane lands....you really might want to take the car seat on the plane especially with an infant, much safer and will be more comfortable for you and the baby...they might not let you gate check both the car seat and stroller...i do know if you use the car seat on the plane they will let you board first...when we did this though i had my husband board first to get the seat installed and i waited till last call with my daughter, figured there was no sense to have her stuck for an extra 30 m ins on the plane strapped in

If the baby is going to be in your lap then all you have to do is go up to the gate where they take your tickets and ask them for a tag for your car seat and stroller and right before you go onto the plane there's a place to put it and they just put it in with all the other luggage and when you get off it's out there waiting for you.
Because if you claim it as one of your luggage's and you already have two they can charge you up to $80.00 a luggage I found that out the hard way.

Some airlines do not let you check both things at the gate. Check with the one you are flying, that is idea if you can.
If not I have found the best way to do this is to get one of those large trash bags that you put leaves in, they are heavier than just garbage bags. Place the seat in there and tape the top up. Place your name tag on it and a big sticker or tape that says car seat. It will get tossed around like everything does, but the bag at least helps prevent scratches. I have flown several times with one and this seems to work best.
Oh I almost forgot. If you are flying with another adult you can have them carry the seat to the plane door. Each adult is allowed one gate check item like this. So that might work as well.
Good luck and have a great trip!

Bring the stroller you might need it when you get off, check the carseat. By the way due to the altitude change on taking off and descending try and give a bottle to your infant, helps

if you can fold the stroller with the car seat still firmly attached, check it at the gate before you board. if not, then you will have to check it with the rest of your luggage, most airlines only allow one piece of equipment to be checked at the gate. definitely check the stroller at the gate, you don't want to have to navigate an airport without it!

i flew 2 months ago and brought my stroller/carrier combo to the gate and had them check it there. that way it is in the front when the plane arrives and they can pull it out as quickly as possible. they will give you certain tags to put on it. mine did get a little scuffed up but it's way better than not having them at all.

I artwork for airport safe practices, and enable me inform you, I by no ability recommend human beings to go away their infant unticketed. One minute of demanding air can make your infant sail in direction of the ceiling and regrettably, i have seen it take position more effective than once. i might want to somewhat save her confined in a newborn seat. They make pressurized ear plugs that help those with discomfort, yet i have flown 40 9 cases and function yet to have ear issues. in basic terms undergo in ideas, that isn't any longer going to very last perpetually. i have also seen human beings provide their toddlers meds that cause them to drowzy, yet mothers and fathers do not continuously love meds
