He is also the most respected young wrestler by Legends in pro wrestling than any other (and yes Cena fans, that includes John Cena). These Legends include Bret Hart, Sting, Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, Terry Funk, Mick Foley, Harley Race, and others. In fact, Bret Hart says he is the future of professional wrestling.

If you still don't know who I am talking about, I am talking about "The Phenominal" AJ Styles (age 27)!

Also, no other wrestler ever has as much of a wide variety of moves they use constantly. Here is the list of moves he uses:
Finishers:
-Styles Clash (Belly to back inverted mat slam)
-Super Styles Clash (Second robe belly to back inverted mat slam)
-Spiral Tap (Somersault corksrew leg drop or corkscrew senton)
-Frog Splash
-Crash and Burn (Tandem front slam)- with Air Paris

Signature Moves:
-Cliffhanger (Inverted sitout side powerslam)
-Fosbury Flop (Blackflip high jump no-hands plancha)
-Pele Kick (Backflip kick)
-Phenomenon/ Stylin' DDT (Quebrada into inverted DDT)
-Shooting Star Press (Springboard shooting star press)
-Spinebreaker (Backbreaker into gutbuster)
-Starmaker (Backdrop driver)
-Styles Facebuster (Sitout wheelbarrow facebuster)
-Styles Suplex Special (Vertical suplex into neckbreaker slam)
-Stylin' Crab (Boston crab)
-Superman (Springboard 450 splash)
-Air raid crash
-Argentine backbreaker rack into an Argentine powerbomb
-Discus Lariat

2007-01-19 16:34:35 · update #4

-Kip-up huracanrana
-Muta Lock
-Suicide senton
-No-hands somersault plancha
-Enzuigiri
-Pumphandle gutbuster
-Springboard forearm strike
-Springboard crossbody
-Side slam backbreaker

So let's see, he has 28 moves while people like people like Cena only have 13, but whatever Cena fans keep being dilusional that your hero is the best because it will never be true.

leese69, I think you are the only person who thinks AJ Styles is overrated. You haven't heard enough of his promos if you think he can' cut a promo, the only reason he doesn't is because he has been in companies that want to see him wrestle not talk, which is fine with AJ. While I like your picks with Punk and Samoa Joe, you are wrong about Styles not being a good submission wrestler. In fact he has three submission moves in his arsenal. The reason he doesn't use them all the time is because he has said that he wants to be known as a wrestler that can do everything and master every style of wrestling, and he has done that well. I do agree with you that the WWE is wastinc CM Punk's talent though, but that is what Vince does best.

I like A.J. Styles, but think he's somewhat overrated. He has trouble cutting good promos, however I like his current heel gimmick and think he's doing better. He's a good wrestler, but there are better. A.J. really needs to improve on his technical wrestling skills and I find him to be bad at selling moves sometimes.

My picks for the future are C.M. Punk (although I wish he would go back to ROH, who showcased what a talent he is) and Samoa Joe (who basically is himself and has no gimmick, which I like).

Edit: Thomas C, It's unfair to make statements like "I think you are the only person who thinks AJ Styles is overrated. You haven't heard enough of his promos if you think he can' cut a promo", when you know absolutely nothing about me. I'm not some teenybopper girl who goes ga-ga over John Cena (who can't wrestle worth crap). I'm a 37-year-old fairly intelligent woman who has grown up to appreciate the history of wrestling and I do actually know something about the sport and what constitutes good wrestling.

Besides, it's all a matter of opinion anyways and you asked for personal opinions. Just because someone doesn't agree with you or doesn't see A.J. Styles in the same light you do, it doesn't mean they don't know what they are talking about or that they haven't seen his work.

Regardless, I have watched wrestling for over 20 years (close to 25 years) and have seen many promos A.J. has cut. He needs to work on his charisma, IMO. I know many people who feel that A.J. needs to work on his promos. They sound too scripted and cheesy at times and he needs to work on his delivery. I also know many people who think A.J. is overrated.

Also, if you really watch A.J., you will see what I mean about selling moves. He will take a simple move that a guy puts on him and break out of it by doing some ridiculous acrobatic high spot that serves no purpose, instead of just breaking the hold.

I did say that A.J. was a good wrestler, however there are many out there who are better. A.J. is more of a spot wrestler to me, while guys like Punk and Joe have the overall package, much like Kurt Angle.

Another problem is that TNA has allowed Styles to reach his peak at too young of an age. There's not much more he can do and I think he has overshadowed other deserving guys, most notably Christopher Daniels, who I think is a much better wrestler than Styles.

Best in the world! Best in the world! Best in the world! I would have to go with Bryan Danielson, even with a dislocated shoulder and torn shoulder ligaments he still put on amazing matches. AJ Styles is great too, but TNA has limited space to showcase him, I would prefer to see him back on ROH (there are tons of wrestlers I'd love to see on ROH) because then he would be able to have matches that last longer than 10 minutes since they aren't on tv.

Randy Orton. He is the youngest World Champion ever. He beat Chris Benoit to win the title.

Yeah he is pretty good but you have to give props to John Cena and Lashley. They are the total package. They are awsome in the ring, and good looking. But if you would open up your question to who is the greatest wrestler of all time with no age limit the Undertaker would reign supreme.

it is a close race between A.J. Styles and Jeff Hardy because they had a very good match between each other until Kid Kash and Dallas came out
