He was only ever referred to as Pigpen. There was another, minor character named Thibault - perhaps your wife got the two names mixed up together?

No, there are no other names for Pigpen. None of the Peanuts Characters have another name except for Snoopy which is Joe Cool, and the Red Barron (I am not exact).
