I don't mean that it keeps cuting on and off line, but the transmission of data starts and stops all the time. This happens especially when i watch video on sites such as youtube, the video takes a long long time to load. I strongly suspect there is something wrong with my software as i used to have no problem at all with watching videos on youtube and other sites, it only started happening after i re-formated my computer and by the way my internet connection is fast.

One possiblity is yer cable/dsl modem is going bad. Mine would stop working, then suddenly start working again. The clue was when the activity wan light would go out.
Also check yer network cable - might not be seated good. Unplug & plug back in. Sometimes the connector oxydizes.

is it wireless? maybe try uninstalling your network connection and having windows set it up again.......have a ya been defraggin lately are there any 2.4 ghrtz cordless phones around your network ? (if wireless connection is used?)
You might try reloading the software for your "fast" network connection and see it it helps there too....
