When in Minnesota the congress approved a taxpayer funded stadium for the Twins while Minneapolis shut down three libraries. Now I like the Twins, but I like the idea of a good future for our children better. Sounds like the wrong issue was on the ballot to me. Tax increases? I will fight them until I die. What we need is less special interest spending and more money going to public services.

It is very interesting that we can spend almost a trillion dollars in Iraq and we cannot take care of our homeless and senior citizens in this country. Oil companies are paying their executives 200 million a year in salaries and stock options. Bush and his friends are getting rich in his war for oil, when will it end? The cost of a barrel of oil has fallen to a five year low and gas prices still remain high, why? Special interest groups in this country control our government and there is little we can do about it until the politicians all get honest and pass laws against them, good luck on that one. Oh well, smile and be happy!

Trouble is, not all of the money grubbing crooks are exclusive to the federal government. This year in Oregon, our liberal governor and his legislative thugs decided to keep our "kicker money", after it was reported that we would get a larger refund because the overage paid in by the tax payers was so much more than usual. Now they are in a dilemma on where they can spend it!! I live outside of Roseburg, and we have had (for two years and counting) an extra $20 fee tacked onto our water bill. Why? Because we use their sidewalks and streets!!! This was the city councils decision. There are other water districts outside of the city limits and those people don't have to pay the extra $20 fee for street and sidewalk use because the city has no way to collect it. Isn't that extortion? The thing is, we go to town to shop in the stores, attend functions or whatever-- in other words we spend our money in this town with the streets of gold!! Problem is trying to get enough people with enough money to take care of the situation. Their newest quest is "land grabbing!!" Eminent Domain was mentioned in the paper tonight. We need signs at the border that say, "Welcome To Oregon. Give us your Money. Now get out!!"

Americans pay the lowest taxes of any industrialized country.

We get less for it because of the huge amounts we spnd on BS war toys and interest on the debt.

We need to rearrange our priorities from supporting war profiteers to improving the lives of our people.

As far as that Minnesota stadium is concerned. The only money Bush ever made on his own (after running 3 firms into the ground with his MBA) was an eminent domain seizing of private property to build a new stadium.

We need to cut our nuclear arsenal drastically. We must keep our nuclear deterrent, of course, but get rid of the excess (I mean, c'mon...we have enough nukes to destroy the whole freakin' solar system right now!) That would free up gobs of funds for more important things like education, infrastructure, health care, conservation, law enforcement, etc.
Also, we need to stop spending millions of dollars on nuclear submarines and jet fighters that are totally incapable of finding a terrorist hiding in a cave in the wilderness and instead invest in more counter-terrorist forces and cooperative police action with our allies (Ooops! I forgot: We have no allies anymore! Thanks Dubya!)

Public services are run like crap. You can shovel more money into them all you want and you will still get the same disappointing results.

NO! NO!! NO!!! Higher Taxes Are WRONG!!!! That's why George Bush is lowering them. Only Democrats want to have higher taxes so they can live in their fancy houses and party all night long while we write letters to them pleading with them to do what we told them to do. It's very, very frustrating. I do not believe that higher taxes ever solved anything.

What we need is no taxes and a free market. No waste, more efficiency, and no coercion.
