Go to my freeware site here - http://www.missingbytes.net/freeware/index.php?dir=Internet%20and%20Network/BitTorrent/

and get uTorrent. There's no install, it's a standalone .exe.

From there, locate a .torrent file on the internet and download it - save it to your desktop. Double click it and when Windows doesn't know how to open it, browse to wherever you saved uTorrent and choose it. Be sure and tell it to always allow it to open .torrent files.

From there, it's just like any other P2P system, you'll be both uploading and downloading at the same time.

Also, chances are you'll need to forward a port in your router to your PC. If you've done other P2P stuff, you'll likely know how to do this as well.

You download the BitTorrent protocol, and then you open a .torrent file. It should ask you where you want to save it, and then it starts downloading. You can also use several torrent downloaders (BitComet, Azereus, BitLord, etc). If you understand peer-to-peer system, you should know how they work. It's the same as all peer-to-peer system.
