Pretty much nothing! The only thing you can really use is plain Tylenol. Not Tylenol cold and flu. And not Advil. My doctor also advised me not to use cough candies. Oh, and you can use plain saline spray for nasal congestion.

Other than that, try home remedies, like hot water with lemon and honey, a vapourizer, basically whatever will treat the worst of the symptoms and help you feel better.

The best you can do is make sure you get lots of rest and drink lots of fluid. Take good care and hope you feel better soon! And congratulations on the newly made baby!

Tylenol is the only pill you will be able to take.
You can also use the Ocean nose spray to open up your head...It is like a gental salt water nose spray that is safe.
Drink lots of clear fluid, talk a warm shower or go into a steamy bathroom to help open your head up.
Don't take a hot hot bath....heat can increase blood flow by 7x's and the heat also raises your internal temp too. A hot bath and shower are fine but not a hot-hot steamy hot one. Just let the steam fill a small bath room and breathe the air.
The tylenol will help more than you think.
I went threw the same thing and that is what the DR told me.
Good Luck

Absolutely the best help for a head cold, will have no harmful effects on you or your fetus is a saline nasal spray Like "Ocean" or a generic one similar to it. If you do not have a fever or aching muscles then I do not recommend taking any Tylenol. You can use the Ocean as a light spray, a drip or a stream. Basically how it works is by changing the pH so that the bacteria or virus is unable to live in the environment. It is extremely effective. If you blow your nose, wash your hands frequently as colds and flu are passed by hands.

Unfortunately, there is not a whole lot you can take. I had the flu at 8 weeks, and I am very high risk. With that being said, my OB/GYN said that it was okay for me to take sudafed. He did not want the baby to catch a cold from me. If you get the sudafed, don't get maximum strength. Tylenol is only going to help with headaches unless you purchase tylenol cold. My mother made me some hot tea. She put lemons and honey in it. Then, rub some vapor rub on your chest and neck before bed. Sleep under a heavy blanket so you can make yourself sweat. You can sleep with a humidifier if you feel it is necessary, but I did not have one. If you put on the vapor rub, you have to stay inside so make sure you are in for good when you put it on. I felt so much better in a matter of two days.

You can use Tylenol for pain relief, and if you're having trouble sleeping, Tylenol PM is fine. You should avoid ibuprofen and aspirin as well as products that contain pseudoephedrine (like Sudafed.) Drink plenty of fluids and make sure you're well-rested. Unfortunately, time is the best medicine for a head cold.

not a whole lot since you are in your firsat trimester. if you were in your second trimester you would be able to taske some cold meds, but i would advise against it in the first trimester. You can take tylenol safely for aches and try hot showers, vaporizer. if you are really suffering call your dr and see what he suggest you take as he may say you can take some things at this time or you could ask a pharmasict.
