So I'm at law school today and I run into one of my female classmates who hasn't seen me since before winter break. We caught up on how our breaks had done and then she touched my hair (six months since my last haircut) and said "this is nice, look at you" or something like that. We are so not close.
Female Friend A informs me: "Bow chicka bow bow, that was a total come on."
Female Friend B informs me: "Hair envy is common in women, it doesn't mean anything."
I respect both their judgments but one of them has to be wrong. Is touching a guy's hair flirtation or just someone with no sense of boundaries or hair envy or what?

It depends how she touched it. If she just touched your ends. Probably envy. If she kinda caressed your hair. It's a big come on. Be alert for signs that will tell you if it is or not.

Women do NOT touch a man's hair unless it's a come on.
We don't have hair envy for men either, unless the guy in question has long, luxuriant locks. Think that over. Would you find your current hairstyle attractive on a woman?
So, unless she is bald, hair envy is out. Way out.

well that depends really on the girl. 1st off (i am 28 female) if this girl does this to other guys, then its nothing. you need to be more observant the way she is around other men. if she flirts alot by touching them or i dont know something along that line, then i wouldnt take it too personal, but if she is just a nice girl who isnt like this with others, then yea, she prob likes you. as an example, there is this lady i see at work, every man she passes she touches him, whether on the shoulder, or rubs their back or touches the hair, something... so men at work shouldnt think she likes them cause its with everyone. (which is to me a turn off)

I'm pretty sure it's not hair envy or whatever you called it. That's just weird. She may have just been being friendly. She may also like you or think you're hot. If you like her, go for her and see what happens. The worst she can do is say no!

To me, that is clearly flirting! Even if she was having "hair envy," which seems silly, why would she touch your hair if she didn't find you cute? If you like her, I'd say ask her to lunch--if you're shy say something like, "Hey, my new hair do would like to know you are available for lunch tomorrow?"

Personally, I think she's flirting with you. Actually touching your hair was the give-away. Women love to run their fingers through a guy's hair because they find it sensual. I least I do.....

No ways!!There are no such thing as HAIR ENVY!!!Are you kidding me?????Maybe she was just admiring your hair or maybe she was coming onto you.
