People who are poor are more likely to resort to doing illegal things in order to survive.

Poverty and crime are directly related in our society, therefore there are more African Americans commiting crime because more are in poverty. Likewise, there are more cops patrolling those neighborhoods because of the higher crime. Therefore, there are also more arrests of people who are committing minor crimes that would not be arrested in another neighborhood due to the fact that they have more cops to watch them. For example, in the suburbs, people rarely get arrested for smoking pot, but in the ghetto it happens a lot. Yet lots of people smoke pot in the suburbs too.

The surest way to ensure that your child DOES go to prison is to abandon/divorce/never marry his mother. It's a sad commentary on today's men....
