My brother Art's 3 minute limit tape. He passed on unfortunately 5 yrs ago, so I would definitely choose his voice as my last enjoyment. JAH BLESS U and what a good question. Peace+++

I think I would be upset and could go with almost any Dave Matthews Band CD. The Garden State soundtrack is nice and somber. Cake's Fashion Nugget is one of my favorite CD's of all times. Another group that puts out awesome CD's from start to finish are Outkast, but I don't know if I would want anything that peppy. Maybe if I was trying to get up the energy and nerve to do one last crazy thing before I died. I might throw Jack Johnson's stuff in there too, they're good all the way through.
Oh, deaf. The same stuff except forget about all that dying stuff.
Israel Kamikiwi 'ole is the s**t too, he's the one who sings the super sad version of over the rainbow that is everywhere now and is on the 50 first dates movie, but not the soundtrack(?)

Elliott Smith, XO.
Lyric from "Sweet Adeline":
"It's a picture perfect evening and I'm staring down the sun, fully loaded deaf and dumb and done, waiting for sedation to disconnect my head
or any situation where I'm better off than dead"
Depressing, yes. But I'd be depressed anyway, knowing I'm going to be deaf.

"Meaningless" by Jon Brion ... a super-producer who also does some dang fine work himself. It's PERFECT POP. That's the best way to describe it ... I bought it on a whim in one of my "exploratory music" moods and boy, did I pick a winner. The last song on the CD is a cover version of 'Voices' originally by Cheap Trick, and he changes it just enough to make it a real thing of beauty. Plus, several of the songs are fun to sing along to, and that's always a plus.

Dave Matthews Band - Before These Crowded Streets
The music is varying and beautiful. At times country, other times classical or rock. Lyrics that are profoundly deep in some songs and drunkenly hilarious at others.

Blind Melon
and this would be the song I remember most from them. Change:
I dont feel the suns comin out today
Its staying in, its gonna find another way.
As I sit here in this misery, I dont
Think Ill ever see the sun from here.
And oh as I fade away,
Theyll all look at me and say, and theyll say,
Hey look at him! Ill never live that way.
But thats okay
Theyre just afraid to change.
When you feel your life aint worth living
Youve got to stand up and
Take a look around you then a look way up to the sky.
And when your deepest thoughts are broken,
Keep on dreaming boy, cause when you stop dreamin its time to die.
And as we all play parts of tomorrow,
Some ways will work and other ways well play.
But I know we all cant stay here forever,
So I want to write my words on the face of today.
And then theyll paint it
And oh as I fade away,
Theyll all look at me and theyll say,
Hey look at him and where he is these days.
When life is hard, you have to change.
