Tried using an avatar that didnt match your ethnicity, gender, or age? Why? Why not? What was your experience if you did.

Someone asked the questions weeks ago so I tried it - I was "treated" a lot differently. Which was kind of eye opening.

Yeah But before I started yahoo Questions I sent a Avatar Postcard to my Sis and She said I was crazy . Just to be funny I changed my Eye color and Hair to blue and a weird style.

Well, obviously I'm not a asiamese cat. Baby's Mom is a striped alley cat. No one knocks me for using a Siamese (it's Baby) for my avatar instead of a striped alley cat. The general assumption is that I'm Siamese, I admit, but I'm not. His daddy was, though.

No I use one that looks pretty much like me OR I use my own actual picture. BUT I've thought about doing that just for kicks -and wondered myself how many others might do the same for the heck of it.

yeah... its the only avatar face that looks good so i use it but it doesn't look like me. i also dress a lot better on my avatar than in real life.
