Blasphemy can be measured by what's acceptable in open society... it can also be called heresy, as heretic's always seem to be blasphemous. Bad language, crude behavior... it's all there. I'm considered a heretic, so when it comes down to it, I'm also blasphemous. This is the best terminology I can give you.

Blasphemy is society's knee jerk reaction to something they don't like. However, unlike when you touch a stove, pull away, and curse, Society still feels the sting because 'The Mob' is unwilling as a whole to evalute themselves and their thinking and feeling processes. Blasphemy is also another way of saying taboo and when you blasphemy you are bringing to the front a cultural taboo. Nobody likes that. At least not 'normal' people, ie those uninterested in expanding their own minds and views or thinking for themselves for that matter.

On that note I leave two examples: Abortion and Gay Marriage.

Everyone in the material world is a blasphemer. Originally we Blasphemed God in the spiritual world. so we fell here. Only one fourth of the souls come to this place (the less intelligent ones ) that's us. We envied Gods position so He allowed us to try to be Him. That is what this world is about (trying to be creators). But we never can fully be God. Eventually we get board and fried on trying and failing and suffering due to Karma (reactions to our previous actions) so we finally call out for the process out of here. The quickest and easiest way to come to reality and reconnect with our Creator also known as Krishna, Allah, Jehovah, Vishnu, etc. is to chant the Maha Mantra. go to harekrishnatemple.c for details and Read Bhagavad Gita for all Answers in life. Don't blasphemy it though it is the Literary incarnation of God.
