Is the lampshade glued or sewn? A sewn lampshade (silk) can washed by immersing in cold water with a gentle detergent and a little Mean Green for stains...
If it's glued put about 2 inches of water in a dishpan or like size and two tablespoons of Mean Green Cleaner..and roll the lampshade back and forth threw the solution..don't let it soak..or the glue will let go...take immediately out the dip..and wipe off with a clean sponge and cool water rinsing the sponge well..let dry..you can scrub lightly serious stains and spray a little diluted Mean Green on the shade...be careful to dilute the Mean Green on white shades...it can discolor the fabric...tinting it green. A mistake I made once...but it did finally rinse off. This is the best I have found...Good Luck..Take Care

I am not sure if the lampshade you have in mind may be made of something that would make this bad to do, but I clean my lampshades with a sponge and something gentle like dishwashing liquid suds on it. You have to be careful of the rims because some of them are pretty much only glued, and too much water can make the part that's folded up near the rim pull away; but you can watch out not to get that part soaked.

Use cold water. You can get the suds off by rinsing the sponge well and wiping the suds off until they're gone.
