Any and everything you put into your body gets to the baby through breastmilk. Motrin however is not harmful in normal adult doses for your baby. Do not take more than the suggested dose. If you feel like you notice a change in your baby after taking any medication let your PED. know and discontinue that medication.

I took a lot of Motrin after delivery, and do not believe it had any adverse effect on the baby. Here is a great link to search for drugs and risks while breastfeeding (I've also put the search result for Motrin below):

you can take motrin. my dr. said that you can take just about any over the counter meds while breastfeeding just take them right after a feeding or pumping and try to avoid 12 or 24 hour formulas for things. the lower doses are better. and as with anything just look for any strange reaction in baby.

No, you can take motrin while breastfeeding. My ob gave it to me after the c-section, and they knew I was strictly breastfeeding. There are plenty of drugs that you can take while breastfeeding

Ask your OB/GYN or a Lactation Consultant. I'm not sure if this is something that can pass into the breastmilk. So many drugs do so it is always better to consult with an expert.

You can safely continue BFing. In reality there are VERY few drugs contraindicated for nursing women. And in that case there are nearly always alternatives! Good luck!

I breastfeed my daughter until she was almost 15 months and I was told I could only take Tylenol. Ask your doctor or your child's doctor. Good luck.

Usually no problems. It is considered generally safe. We give it as the staple drug after mom delivers her newborn in the hospital.
