It seems that every program is looking for ratings that are off the charts. Look at what Rosie O., & Donald Trump. did. How about those Maniacs on Big Brother UK. Or Simon, on American Idol, pushing the buttons so hard on contestants. Cook Island?
WHAT IS NEXT? Are people becoming that calous?

I have to admit, you have brought up a very good point. TV has gotten way out-of-hand and the bar that controls what is too graphic has been pushed up higher and higher as time goes on. Fortunately, though, there is hope. America is beginning to look bad not only in the many ways that it does already (Iraq, Health care, etc.) but a new flaw in its design is forming and that is the problem you have addressed. As soon as congress sees this, they will crack down on the "graphicness" bar and TV may be somewhat human again.

Seeing executions on TV will never happen, based on the fact that witnessing a human death is corruption and people who witness it usually become mad. Any sane government official will realize this and stop this from happening.

I remember when I was a child, I would love to watch Looney-Toons and laugh outrageously at the cartoon chickens and rabbits shooting each other. Once I grew older, I stopped watching those shows because I had found new interests, but by pure luck this past summer, I stumbled across one and was horrified. Wolves were committing suicide and rabbits smoking pot and cigars. If TV really once was a fun-for-the-family toy, it must have been before Loony-Toons.

Well, back in the old days everyone used to go to the town center and watch executions. So if it gets to that, it will only be coming back around to that. People are curious and like to watch stuff that they don't see every day or aren't commonplace or are just dirty or wrong to watch. It exciting.

Simon is probably the reason why many people are rude to each other. He must have several bodyguards because of all the insults he dishes out.
