Touch
Without it you would be totally paralyzed. You would be unable to feel anything:
your feet when you try to walk
your hands when you try to eat
your mouth when you try to chew
your throat when you try to swallow
you would be unable to reproduce due to the inability to obtain physical stimulus necessary to create optimum conditions
you would be unable to determine anytime you were in pain and so you would not be able to detect danger like a cut or burning
you could cut your jugular vein, bleed to death, and not know it until it was to late.... burn your hand to a crisp on a stove or in a fire before you realized it
you could not kiss and feel it
4 me
touch first
hearing second (think about how much more you hear everyday than you see... hearing is in all directions and all distances and the easiest way of securing communications)
ESP would go hear if you believe in the ability to perceive information via alternative reception not clearly defined at this time
smell/taste third (smell is necessary for sex, and i think these two are tied to close to separate)
seeing last

I would say sight there are so many stimulations visually. I cant smell half the time due to allergies. Touch would be a hard one to not have you wouldnt know if something hurt may not notice a serious injury.Hearing would also be bad since i love music. Taste again with the allergies not always what it should be.

Recently I just got over being very sick, and in that time I lost a LOT of my senses..I couldnt taste things, I lost some hearing in my right ear from sinus draining, I couldnt TALK (not a sense, but still) and I couldnt smell. Oh, and I wear contacts because without them I am blind. So really, I cannot say because they all play such an important role..I would know, I lost most of them!

Yeah, I think it's touch too. Obviously sight and hearing are important, but people can get by without them. People have done studies on "feral" children who have been abandoned and pretty much had no physical contact with people, and it completely screws them up. Plus, if you couldn't feel anything, it'd be hard to get about without getting hurt.

I don't believe there is a most important sense. All of the senses work together so that we can experience all of this world. I see them as a unit, not as individual pieces.
Why do you think it is that if one sense is lost, the others gain strength?

Interesting question! I agree with touch...it's almost as if all of the other senses would be muted without touch, without feeling...does inner feeling count as touch?

I'd say touch is most important. Just feeling somebody caress you is enough for me!

I would have to agree with that, but I also like sight. To not see the world would be devastating...it's so beautiful.
